West Kirby re-opens – and is firing!

    7th Sep 2009 @ 01:34:56 PM

sSs Team Rider, Ian Robbo Roberts, enjoyed a rare day off from coaching the UK's junior race squads and a promising August bank holiday Monday forecast meant it looked like it would be perfect for a great day at West Kirby.

Having recently completed it’s refurbishment, the marine lake is back, and boy did we miss it. A strong south westerly was all it took to attract sailors of all abilities to the mecca of north west windsurfing.

Having been out of action for what feels like an eternity, it gave Ian the perfect chance to practice spocks, loops and switch moves on the super-flat water at Kirby.

Having had issues on the bottom of the lake with build-up of silt, the lake has now been fully dredged and the bottom re-layed. This means you can blast right by the wall and go straight into the next move! Roll on more wind, and more bank holidays!
