    RRD Skye in Pozo

    15th Jul 2008 @ 01:40:02 PM

RRD International Team Rider, John Skye had only just signed to RRD and he was competing on his new boards. This is what John has to say about his experience at the event:

''Having just signed to RRD literally the week before the event I was super keen to make a good impression. Unfortunately I didn't really get the result I was after, but I was super happy with the boards, had some good sailing and got some really nice photos. In the end the heats that I lost were super close, both on split decision which makes it really frustrating, but thats how it goes in contests sometimes.

The highlight for me was the Super Session on the last day.

Pozo is all about jumping, so the "best jump counts" format of the super session makes it all about going as big as possible. I had a really good first heat against Philip Koester and Dany Bruch, and advanced to a loaded final. Victor Fernadez (contest winner), Ricardo Campello (contest runner up) and Kauli Seadi (Current World champion).

Ricardo was on another level. Planing doubles, stalled doubles and a triple, meant he won by a mile, but I was super happy to finish 3rd, beating Kauli.

I now have some time before the next contest so I cant wait to get all my new RRD boards and get some time on the water on them.
