Rhosneigr UKWA Freewave 2nd

sSs Team Rider, Connor Bainbridge took a break from racing and joined the amateurs and pro's at Rhosneigr for the UKWA Wave Round 2. Unfortunately the wind and waves didn't show, but a junior freestyle session in only 5 knots meant that Connor came away with a 2nd place. Despite the lack of wind, Connor put his RRD Twin Tip to good use. Aleksy Gayda came 1st with Tom Bennett-Lloyd taking a 3rd from the other hopefuls. Desperate for a second chance to get a 1st, Connor spent most of the weekend practicing clew first gekko flaka's, but to no avail as the wind didn't show on the Sunday.

Despite the lack of wind, a great weekend was had by all 35 entrants and supporting personnel, with free snowboarding on the Friday night and a fun race to the island on Stand Up Paddle Boards and new generation long boards on Saturday. As well as wake boarding there was a fleet of Turf Dogs on the beach for everyone to play with, and loads of free food for competitors.

It was well worth the trip for a great weekend of water sports, with lots of new kit to try and tips from the pro's.
