RRD thanks Alex for his great job in PWA Cabo Verde

    20th Mar 2008 @ 10:56:29 AM

RRD celebrates the performance of its new team rider Alex Mussolini who reached a 5th place during the first PWA Wave Event in Cabo Verde.
Alex had an unlucky start to the event as he came across local hero Josh Angulo early in the second round of the single elimination who kicked him out in a very close Judges' call.
But Alex made a really strong come back in the double elimination held at Little Hookipa with head high surf and good wind.
Alex advanced through his first heat in the double elimination together with Caste and then followed with an amazing heat where Alex won his second round by throwing takas and an amazing goyta off the pitching wave sections!
In his third heat Alex scored another amazing performance, landing another sick goyta and an aerial on the same 9.0 scoring wave. He won his heat and advanced together with Cabo Verde expert Katchadourian.
Unfortunately the wind didn't allow further competition in the Double Elimination, so Alex's amazing come back was halted at fifth place. Alex gave a great show and was definitely the standout sailor of the loosers bracket and showed he has all the moves and in the right places to do very well on the 2008 PWA WAVE Tour!

Roberto Ricci himself said about Alex's performance:
    "Great Alexone! He's da man!
We followed the whole competition with much anxiety and were relieved to see him come through so well!
I am very happy about the result and especially to see the whole job done on the losers' bracket. I am sure that if the competition would have gone forward Alex would have had a great chance to get in the top 4!
We are proud to have such a great guy like him in the team and we are stoked to develop more and more wave boards with him.
I can't wait to see him again here in Maremmaland!"
